The disAbilities Resource Centre (DRC) is situated at 137 Spey St, Invercargill.
It is a a 'not for profit' voluntary welfare organisation, and is a leading provider of disability support services in Southland, with over 200 paid staff.

The Information Service is the main service the DRC provides. Our information Consultants have up-to-date information on health and disabilities, community organisation contacts, building access, education and equipment. We have nationwide links and our Internet connection provides you with the most accurate information available. We are agents for the Total Mobility Taxi Voucher scheme. You may be entitled to receive a discount, please contact us for more information.

Our Adaptive Equipment stock items have been designed to make day to day tasks easier and sometimes safer to do. We are also able to order other items as required. Come in and have a look, you may be surprised at the little things that are available that could make life that bit easier! We also have a range of equipment available for hire at very reasonable rates - wheelchairs, walkers, shower stools, commodes, toilet seat raisers etc.

We also provide Home Support Services including Domestic Assistance and Personal Care. People may be eligible to receive free Home Support Services, but may also pay privately, safe in the knowledge that the Carer we send to them is well trained, supervised and has had background checks to ensure their suitability.

The Living Essentials and Options (LEO) Information Consultant is available to meet with you in your own home and discuss what resources are available in the community. You may like to have a friend or family member with you at the time of your home visit to act as a support person. Once you know what is available, referrals can then be made to other services if you wish.
