The chance at a real job is something that all New Zealanders deserve. Being in work is about more than just a job though; it is a key to engaging in community life and a boost to one's sellf esteem and satisfaction.

People with disabilities are no execption to this, and SOUTHLAND disABILITY ENTERPRISES Inc employs more than eighty people with significant disabilities. We offer these employees real work in a supported environment.

SOUTHLAND disABILITY ENTERPRISES Inc was established in 1973, as an Industrial Work Training Unit. Originally our mission was to provide a second level of Training for People with Disabilities but our latest incarnation has seen us become fully established as a provider of "Disability Employment Services".

These services include both Sheltered and Supported Employment, but we have gone out of our way to keep our originial concept of utilising real work in a real work setting.

We recycle glass, paper, cardboard, plastic and bale wrap for resale, we manufacture outdoor furniture, pallets, firewood and kindling, we prepare, assembly and package a large variety of products for postage and sale, and we do it all by
PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST.
